The Long Range Financial Planning Committee was created to assist the Town Council develop appropriate long-term financial strategies for Ocean View.  The Committee is reorganized on an annual basis and typically meets from November through March of each fiscal year.  The Committee is composed of six Town citizens with backgrounds that represent different economic constituencies and is chaired by the Town Manager.  To provide a diversity of opinions and recommendations for Town Council, the Committee will not include Council members.  

The duties and responsibilites of the Committee are to be focused on making recommendations to the Council about:

• Operating budget forecasts for the next five-year period
• Capital improvement projects
• Use of the Town's financial reserves
• Investment opportunities
• Revisions to property taxes and fee/services charges
